a love thing

Have you ever felt like your soul is dancing while listening to music… to guitars screeching and even without words, you feel the melody speaking to you?

That is exactly what I am feeling at this very moment. I am currently listening to Joe Satriani’s “A Love Thing”. I now understand the title. He communicated his intense love without words.

Romantically speaking, it’s as if you’re just walking around and you suddenly have your big fish moment. You feel this strange tingle in your skin and you can’t help but look back. You muster enough courage to approach her and then, like a beautiful song, your melody unbelievably fits each other. You get to know each other, breaking down walls and barriers until you find yourself imagining a life with her. You feel as if you’re swimming through clouds. The love is so intense that you lose yourself into the feeling until you feel as if your entire being is about to burst from this intense love for this one person. How can there be such a love and for one person only? The notes go higher and higher until your soul reaches the heavens of your totality. You cannot imagine yourself with anybody else but this person. Everything revolves around her. And then comes the time when you are calmed by this intense love. You feel your soul resting and every time you open your eyes, it is her face that you see, and every time you breathe, her sweet scent cleanses your soul. There are no more chaos, only peace and serenity.

But it is not only about romantic love. It is love for his art, his music. It is love for life that has already gone beyond words that only music could capture it. He captured it, alright. I feel every thread of my being dancing to the song. The music gets more intense every second until I can’t help but close my eyes and let myself get lost in the music.
